![]() So we'll have to keep our eyes open for more updates coming up. While it is currently in the testing period, great further development is still expected. It is a different game than the one they are releasing for consoles and PC, and it will be widely benefited from being on a mobile device. In collaboration with Industrial Toys, they are designing a completely new experience that will take the war into smartphones and tablets in 2022. Smartphone releaseĪbout the mobile release, DICE claims they've been working on a prototype of this for years. Here you’ll incarnate as a special agent that’s trying to be recruited by the USA and Russia. There are some futuristic technologies implemented, but it’s mostly similar to the current battlefields. The game is taking a more similar approach to those of the Call of Duty Modern Warfare games, with a setting of about 10 years in the future. Unlike other entries, this one's not based on past Belic events, and this is why fans point at the possibility of the title being just Battlefield instead of Battlefield 6. Setting in historyĪmong the rumors we have of Battlefield 6, it all seems to point out a change of direction from the last games, and a twist from all the historic battles we've seen in the series. ![]() This will take the battles to a new level of total chaos and destruction, with more vehicles, guns, and players than ever before. Of the little information we have so far, it is confirmed that the scale of the maps is unprecedented, and the possibilities of battle royale battles with up to 128 players are here. All of this also thanks to the power of the new consoles and the most recent technical advances in PC gaming. There are also massive battles with more online players than ever before. ![]() There are the epic scale combats, the military equipment, the tactic elements, and all the crazy mayhem that can change the game route in the blink of an eye. That’s even if it is 10yrs ahead, could be 5, could be 1.Everything you can imagine a fan of the FPS genre loves comes in big in this installment of the series. Some of the info yesterday was wrong according to the same source:Īpparently the reveal will actually be Multiplayer but no first person view, only cinematic.Īnd the info regarding the campaign is wrong, instead that info is just part of the backstory for which there may not even be a not going to be jet packs and lazer beams like you might think, It will still be modern whilst being able to utilise the latest tech and concepts. Published Battlefield 6 is in development for next-gen, which begs the question of which time period or setting the franchise may cover next. That’s a good point actually, but I guess that would depend on if all games are supposed to tie in to each other.Īnd yeh some of the tech already available today is pretty nuts lol That’s even if it is 10yrs ahead, could be 5, could be 1. That being said, lasers are used in modern military and jet wings are things that exist now so to be fair, they would be more believable than the other things mentioned not going to be jet packs and lazer beams like you might think, It will still be modern whilst being able to utilise the latest tech and concepts. I'm personally for the latter, I would prefer a pure modern military Battlefield game with no historic restrictions whether that be from historical fact or their own fictional history. Hover tanks were already playable so if the new Battlefield were to be a direct sequel and take place 10 years after BF4, it would either have to incorporate these sci fi elements into the game and accept that it isn't a modern game at all or ignore it ever happened and accept that it isn't really a sequel to BF4. The content I'm referring to was based on Battlefield 2142 which had neither jet packs or laser beams but did have mechs, hover tanks and titans which were being developed during BF4's time period. With Battlefield 1 featuring the First World War, and Battlefield 5 featuring the Second it’s fair to assume that a future Battlefield 6 could jump forward in time once again. I’m all for going forward, tired of history now but as you say so long as it’s not full of lock-ons and stupid tech like mech suits, jet packs etc, but I’m confident DICE will make it as realistic as possible. As Battlefield 5’s Tides of War post-launch content schedule continues, fans are no doubt beginning to wonder where the series will go next.
